PandaTeach Methodology
Our 1:1 lessons are designed to keep students actively speaking while giving them regular opportunities to receive corrections, practice accurate English, and build confidence.
1Encourage longer sentences
Children often respond with very short answers when learning English. Our teachers encourage them to express themselves using complete and longer sentences.
For example:
Student: “Korea.”
Teacher: “I’m from Korea.”Encourage students to expand their answers and express themselves in complete sentences rather than accepting one-word responses.
2Type it up & Repeat
When a student makes an important mistake, type the corrected sentence clearly so they can see the correct English.
Then, ask the student to repeat the corrected sentence aloud.
Student: “Yesterday I go park.”
Teacher types: “Yesterday, I went to the park.”
Teacher: “Can you repeat that?”This helps students notice the correction, understand the correct structure, and actively practice saying it themselves.
3Pronunciation Correction
Some words and sounds can be difficult for children to pronounce. Our teachers provide gentle, patient correction and give students time to practice.
When a student has difficulty with a word or sound:
Model → Repeat → Practice
Clearly model the correct pronunciation, ask the student to repeat it, and practice again when necessary.
The goal is to help students gradually develop clearer and more accurate pronunciation.
4Asking Questions
Asking questions is an important part of keeping students engaged and encouraging them to speak.
Start with natural questions such as
“What did you do today?”
and use the student's answer to continue the conversation.
For example:
Student: “I played.”
Teacher: “What did you play?”
Student: “I played soccer.”
Teacher: “Who did you play with?”Use follow-up questions to encourage students to give longer answers and speak in greater detail.
